MEET Patton
NEW LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY
Elvonte Patton was born to a teenage mother in Lawton, Oklahoma. He started his education at a Head Start program before attending Lawton Public Schools through 4th grade. Upon his mother and step-father getting married, Elvonte had the privilege to experiencing different state public school systems as an army brat by marriage. He learned much about adapting to different environments as he traveled through the American school system from Indiana, Georgia, Arkansas, and finally, Texas.
Elvonte' Patton graduated from Shoemaker High School in Killeen, TX in 2004. Upon graduation, he chose to continue his education at one of Texas' Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Texas Southern University. While attending TSU, he began giving back to grade-school kids that suffered socially and economically through Big Brothers Big Sisters after school program. As a volunteer with 100 Black Men, he served as a mentor for African-American high school students who were labeled “at-risk” for drop out.

Elvonte' Patton earned his Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Early Childhood Education from TSU. He also served in many capacities throughout the university, from admissions administrator, student services administrator, and professor.
Currently Mr. Patton is a full-time student working on his Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. Mr. Patton is researching for his dissertation how sound frequencies affect cognitive development and the effect those frequencies could have on student behavior in the classroom.
Mr. Patton believes in the future of our children. For the past 12 years, he has been dedicated to ensuring a better education for all through his community service efforts. Today, he continues community service by speaking to the youth at various schools to supporting children at school events. Mr. Patton has set a goal to become the youngest university president and to continue supporting young people as they matriculate through the school system and mature as college graduates.
Elvonte' Patton is married to Ashley B. Patton. They are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Sydney and Sophia Patton.
